MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Amidst the shopping, the food preparation, and all the arrangements that have to be made as you travel or accept guests and family, I hope that you will pause and remember the “reason for the season”. We are such a blessed people and nation through the saving grace of Jesus Christ! Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Working in retail has temporarily eroded some of my own beliefs about this season as we focus so much on how much to spend and what to ‘get’. I see people in a panic and people over spending constantly. The fever of it all can get to me as I am sensitive to the needs and desires of others. It hit me yesterday as the reality of what day it was truly set in. I still had all the things I wanted to do to bless my friends and neighbors, cards I had not sent, and the shopping that I wanted to do but couldn’t. It was a meltdown time. My husband in all his wisdom, brought me back to the reality of Who this season is about and how we are to give of His love and gifts EVERYDAY, not just one day or season a year. Praise God for wise and loving husbands. Matt truly is God’s gift to me. God pours His love, wisdom, and grace through this man and I am honored beyond words to be his wife. Continue reading

We Are So Truly Thankful!

This has been a year of great challenge but also great bounty and blessing! Most of all though it has been an opportunity to see God’s undeniable, ever present faithfulness! We are thankful for so many things that a list seems inadequate and sure to miss some important people or aspects of our lives. Many of you are often brought to mind and lifted before the Father for your needs at that moment or time as well as His provision for your life.

We are thankful for you!!!. Continue reading

Yeah! It Is Snowing Again!

I wish Kristina was here (she is still in IA at the Johnson/Elson wedding) as she always gets excited with me as it snows! It snowed overnight a little but today brought periods of steady light snow and it was so pretty. Fairly big, fluffy flakes! It turned the landscape into a picture postcard and makes me think of friends, family, and of Christmas. Yes, as much as I love Colorado, I miss YOU all at times like this!

Abby and I went for a walk in Ute Valley Park late this afternoon. Abby loves mountaineering! She races from rock to rock, dodging back and forth across the trail -ears flopping all the while. She never gets exhausted. No matter how far we hike, she never tires! She is constantly sniffing with that hound nose of hers; no scent along the way misses her notice. She had fresh deer scent to follow tonight and she would sometimes get out of my sight as she ran trying to find them. They were gone, however. Probably somewhere warm and cozy out of the storm, no doubt. Continue reading

The Wonder and Beauty of Each Day!

Today, two of my dear friends are giving their children in marriage to one another! I am so excited for them all! This is truly a day that two families “the Johnsons and the Elsons” are being blended together for a fabulous work and testimony to the Lord of Hosts. I know there has to be a mixture of emotions but as I have watched both families, the overwhelming one has to be the awe of God and His Plan. Who would have thought four or five years ago that these two friends that have grown up together with my kiddos would find a wonderous love for each other through their walk with the Lord. He is so awesome!
Kristina was able to go and take part in the festivities! We are excited to have her back home again soon so we can hear and see all the smiling faces, love shown toward one another, Glory given to the Lord, and details of the event. Mary promised pictures and maybe even video! That will not be like being there as we had planned but will be the next best thing.
We love you all and have thought of you often today and lifted all the details to our Father for His blessing. What an awesome event and day! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Johnson!

May God in His infinite wisdom, grant you a life full of His love poured through each other, forgiveness for even the small things as they can be big stumbling blocks, blindness to the faults of one another, mercy, grace, and strength to do as Jesus -say what His Father said and did – honoring Him and each other. It will be a joy to watch you grow together as you grow in Him. We love you!

My Heart Knows I Live For Your Glory

Good Morning! I am rejoicing just in the goodness of my Father this morning! There are so many things that I need to communicate to so many of you but my heart is so full this AM of the Glory of the Lord that I want to just go up and stand on the housetop and shout to the Lord. This is the next best thing, and with fresh snow by far the safest, to the top of the house!

So I stand this AM and shout to the Heavens, You are Holy! Jesus I belong to You , the reason that I am, the reason that I sing. Jesus I believe in You, Jesus I belong to You, the reason I live, the reason that I sing with all I am. I will worship, I will worship You, I will worship, I will worship You. Jesus I belong to You……………..

I recommend Hillsong’s new CD, For All You’ve Done along with a fresh, beautiful ‘Christmas Card snow storm’ to set your heart right. The deer have been through the yard already this AM and although I doubt I will be glad they are here next year when I try to garden, I am enjoying them now. Oh, the CD will work in your heart without the snow, if you must. Much love to all!

Two Job Offers In One Day!!

Gracious! Here we are all sending out resumes right and left without avail and in one day, I get two job offers! I am accepting both! I need all the hours I can get at this point until Matt’s job is funded.

I have been working on a volunteer project with Messenger International (formerly John Bevere Ministries) around Lisa Bevere’s book, Kissed The Girls And Made Them Cry. Continue reading

Mom Comes To Visit

Just a day after returning from Florida and my stay with Josh, Matt’s Mom came to visit us. What a treat! It was great to have her here to catch up on all things family and to just laugh and tell family stories. I learned alot I hadn’t know previously.

Mom and I spent a thrilling part of her first afternoon at Wild Oats. For those of you not living in Colorado, Wild Oats is one of the treasures here! It is a health food grocery store the size of a HyVee. The options are almost limitless and exciting. The produce is awesome, loads of fresh flowers, meat without antibiotics, well you get the picture. I LOVE going there. It is just a wonderful experience. Mom agreed. I promise not to torture any of the rest of you with a visit to Wild Oats when you come, it is just something that Mom and I can share. Continue reading
